The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has shared relief materials to victims of flooding in Adamawa localities.
NEMA disclosed this in a statement on its X account, formerly Twitter on Wednesday.
“Officials of NEMA Yola Operations office flagged off the distribution of relief materials to victims of 2023 floods disaster in Yola North, Yola South, and Girei Federal Constituency of Adamawa State.
“The Head of NEMA Yola Operations office represented at the Flag-off by Yusuf Ibbi (PSARO) at Bye Pass Primary School in Yola North said the gesture was part of the federal government’s commitment in providing succour to the affected people,” the Agency stated.
According to the statement, he noted that the materials will help to mitigate the hard times they have gone through, adding that it is not compensation for what they have lost.
Meanwhile, the member representing the constituency, Hon. Abubakar Baba Zango, who was represented by Legislative assistant, Mr. Usman Mohammed, expressed gratitude to NEMA – and advised the recipients to make good use of what they have received.
However, NEMA also revealed that relevant stakeholders were present in the course of the distribution.
